Yagnopavit Sanskar Puja

The Yagnopavi Sanskar is also known as Upanayana Sanskar. It is the most valuable ritual conducted in Brahmins. It is also spelled as Janoi by the Gujrati people. The Upanayana Sanskar in Hindi is derived from two words Up means Paanas and Nayan means to take, which means getting closer to Guru.
The Yagyopavit Sanskar is executed for boys when they enter the age of 8. The Vratbandh Sanskar is conducted by Pandit Ji, who ties the holy thread Yajnopaveetam to the boy alongside chanting Gayatri Mantra.

This pooja is a mark of letting the boy enter his second birth by getting Vedic education. The samagri used in Upnayan Sanskar is Betel leaves, Chandan, Rice, Coconut, Havan Samagri, Janoi, and more for an auspicious pooja.

Auspicious muhurat for Upanayana Sanskar

The Yagyopavit Sanskar is conducted when the boy gets eight years old. The date is scheduled by Pandit Ji based on the boy’s birth star. While starting the Magh Mahina, Amavasya or Purnima is also considered favourable for Upanayana.

●      The Upanayan Keeps the boy always safe from all adverse happenings and evil powers.

●      The Yagyopavit Sanskar increases the boy’s proficiency in learning.
