Engagement Puja

The Engagement ceremony is also called Vaag Daan Vidhi. On this day, Girl’s Brother or Pandit Ji puts Tilak on the boy’s forehead and is given Coconut, Money, Chandan, Supari, Janeu, Fruits and more necessary items in his hands.

The boy’s sister or bua offers auspicious items to the girl while applying tikka on her forehead. After that, the boy’s mother gives five clothes, shagun, Gold etc., as per choice to the future bride. The boy and girl sit facing the east direction on the aasan.

Pandit Ji makes Swastik chinha and puts Pata on it. Cover the pata with Red cloth over which you put paan-supari and Diya. Then, worship Supari as Ganpati Ji offering them flowers.
